Its full of stars
Posted in General on December 2nd, 2009 by Peter LipscombThis time of year I enjoy the view of some beautiful and easy to find naked-eye open star clusters. As the sky darkens, I go out and face towards the east to find the Pleiades star cluster. This group of sibling stars share a common origin having formed in the same mother nebula. And because they are stellar siblings, their nickname ‘the seven sisters’ makes some sense. But, the cluster is actually populated by over a thousand stars.
